School Council

School Council

We hold meetings at least once every other week. During our meetings our chairperson or vice-chairperson, will read the agenda and the minutes are taken. The minutes are shared with the school via their class representative or through the student council noticeboard.

The School Council has 12 representatives that are divided into three main groups focusing on Sport, Fundraising and the Environment and Community. During our meetings we discuss issues around these three main subjects that have been brought forward by the school.

The School Council can also take forward initiatives and projects on behalf of their peers, and be involved in strategic planning and processes such as the School Development Plan, Governing Body meetings and on occasions staff appointments.

Our School Council aims to help pupils feel that their school responds to their needs; have the opportunity to let adults know their feelings and opinions about things that affect them; have a say about decisions, and to play an active role in making their school a better place; develop active life skills through participating in events such as delivering assemblies to the whole school and organising fundraisers such as World Down Syndrome day as well as raising funds for school.
