Year 2 A - Miss Bailey 2019 - 2020

Hi  Year 2,

We hope that you are all well and trying to enjoy your time at home. We are sure that you are all being model students for your new teachers!

The teachers are in school some days, but not as many as usual, as most of you are at home! We have been spending quite a lot of extra time in our  gardens and,  we’re not sure if it is  because of the lack of traffic noise, but the bird song seems much louder than usual. Perhaps they are trying to cheer us all up!

When we studied the seaside (that seems a long time ago), we learnt all about the habitats of different birds and  we have  been wondering what different birds live near us.  Perhaps this week you could spend sometime listening to the birds in your garden or outside your window. Think about why those birds live near your house. Could you use the internet to research the habitats of birds, what  they eat and what their young look like? On your daily walk you could go on a bird hunt, you will have to be very quiet though!

Below are a few links to websites that have lots of information on birds. Maybe you could even try and draw a bird!

There are also some activities in links at the bottom of the page that you can have a go at, we will add different things each week. If you do some writing, feel free to take a picture of it to share with us using the school email address. There are some 2Dos set on Purple Mash to have a go at as well.

Miss you all,

Miss Bailey and Mrs Lowry
